Your data, in plain words.

Fyg is a personal life-tracking assistant. The whole point of the product is that the data you give it stays yours. This page explains what that means in practice.

What we collect

• Account info: your email address, used to sign in and to reach you about your account.
• Your tracked data: everything you type into the chat — meals, tasks, goals, observations, whatever you log. This is stored as structured records in your own private database.
• Basic usage data: minimal logs needed to keep the service running and debug issues (timestamps, request types). No third-party analytics SDKs are embedded in the app itself during Beta.

How we use it

• To operate the product — store your entries and answer your queries.
• To improve the product, in aggregate and anonymized form. We do not read individual users’ data to train models or for any other purpose.
• To contact you about your account, Beta updates, and service notices.

Who can see it

You. The maker, only when explicitly needed to support a request you’ve made (e.g., you report a bug and we look at the affected entry with your consent). That’s it. We don’t sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or analytics.

Where it lives

Your data lives in a managed PostgreSQL database on AWS in the United States. Connections are TLS-encrypted, backups are encrypted at rest, and the database is not exposed to the public internet.

Third-party services we use

• LLM providers (currently Anthropic and OpenAI) — the contents of your messages are sent to a model provider in order to parse them. Providers we use have contractual agreements not to retain or train on this data. We may swap providers; we’ll update this page when we do.
• Cloud hosting — AWS (compute, database, storage).
• Email — used only to respond to you. We do not run marketing campaigns during Beta.

Exporting and deleting

You can export all of your data at any time, in CSV or JSON, from inside the app. You can delete your account, which permanently removes your entries within 30 days (the delay covers backup rotation). Email hello@fyg.fyi if you need help with either.

Children

Fyg is not intended for children under 16. Don’t use the service if you’re younger than that.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material, we’ll update this page and email registered users. The date at the top is always current.
